And, I promise you, you will [do it again] [\u2026]<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Denn\u00a0 \u2026<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>[\u2026] it\u2019s the default reaction to having your privilege checked [\u2026]<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Zumindest \u2026<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>If you don\u2019t make <strong>a conscious choice to be better than that<\/strong> [\u2026]<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Und es stellt sich natuerlich die Frage:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>How did you get to the place where you started making that conscious choice?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Fuer mich selber kann ich das gar nicht beantworten. Es geschah aber sicher ungefaehr in dem Zeitraum, in dem ich mich entschlossen habe mein Maul nicht mehr zu halten, nur weil es in eine unangenehme, soziale Situation muenden k\u00f8nnte; als ich realisierte \u2026<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>[\u2026]\u00a0 it\u2019s [my] turn to say something.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Denn wie ich schon \u00f8fter schrieb, ist es wichtig der ganzen nachgeplapperten Propaganda entgegen zu treten, denn<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>[\u2026] when that doesn\u2019t get picked up and unpacked, we send a very unpleasant message to everyone who sees [or hears] it about how acceptable it is to do so.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Oder wie ich es ausdruecke: wenn nicht mal &#8222;die Studierten&#8220; was sagen, dann kann es ja eigentlich gar nicht so falsch sein.<br \/>\nIst es aber!<\/p>\n<p>Und auch wenn \u2026<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>[We] probably won\u2019t persuade [anybody]<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>\u2026 ist es so wichig, dass \u2026<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>[We] just don\u2019t want him to persuade anybody else [!]<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Denn es geht nicht um die, die sowieso ueberzeugt sind von dem Mist, den sie von sich geben. Aber es geht sehr wohl um die Neffen und Nichten, die Arbeitskollegen und jungen Studenten im Club.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>[Our] duty is to [them] [\u2026] out there [\u2026] who could go either way.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Und auch wenn dies wieder und wieder frustrierend ist, ja gar Verzweiflung ausl\u00f8st, so gilt:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>[\u2026] if you\u2019re a dude, especially a dude with a lot of privileges, it\u2019s rarely dangerous work.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Und \u2026<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>You don\u2019t do it to defend anyone, you don\u2019t do it to protect anyone, you don\u2019t do it for brownie points &#8211;<strong> you do it because you\u2019re in the position to do it<\/strong> and because it\u2019s the decent thing to do.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Und wenn nur fuenf Prozent aller Leute den ueblichen Propagandabullshit NICHT unwidersprochen im Raum stehen lassen, dann wuerde das bedeuten, dass<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u00a0[\u2026] most groups of 20 or more would have at least one person we could count on to speak up.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Und nach vier Beitraegen kann ich auch endlich zum Abschluss kommen.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Our individual actions<\/strong> are weak, but they <strong>[a]re necessary<\/strong>, and they do add up.
